Château de Fleurville

Between Tournus and Macon

Well situated if you are driving along the A6/E15 through France, the elegant Château de Fleurville is in the village of the same name between Tournus and Mâcon. This is a gentle part of the world, less commercial than some of its more northern counterparts in the wine lands of Burgundy, and all the more charming because of it. The delightful town of Tournus, Cluny, the vineyards of the Mâconnais, and one of the prize stately homes Château Cormartin are all on the doorstep.

Owners Pascal and France Lehmann have been lovingly restoring this 17thC building, taking care to retain many of the historic features. The décor of the château is traditional, in a lovely setting, ideal for eating on the terrace on a good day. Enjoy the grounds, the heated pool, play tennis or just chill. The 18 hole golf course of Mâcon La Salle is just 4km down the road.

The château has 15 rooms, friendly service and a good restaurant. Prices from 160 euros per night, breakfast not included.

Open February to mid November.
