Travel by Bus

Intercity bus rides from five euros

Flixbus, Isilines and Ouibus are names to look out for. These long distance bus operators connect you to cities and towns throughout Europe with tickets from five euros. Paris/Auxerre/Dijon route (journey time four hours) is an example. The ticketing system works like the airlines, with prices rising according to demand. In Burgundy and Franche-Comté, there are services from Auxerre, Belfort, Besançon, Dijon, Les Rousses, Lons-le-Saunier, Mâcon, Montbéliard and Paray-le-Monial and Nevers.

Travel within Burgundy

Buses in Burgundy are organized by the transport section of each regional Conseil Général in the four departments, Côte d´Or, Nièvre, Saône-et-Loire and Yonne.

Here we show links to the bus routes and timetables. Take care when looking at timetables as some of these routes are geared to school term time only or change during the holiday periods and at the weekends. If you want to travel from département to département, that is another challenge.

We try to keep up to date with these schedules but double-check where possible with the local transport company (in brackets below) or tourist office.
