Onward Journeys to Burgundy

ARRIVING AT PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE
For your onward journey to Burgundy the options are to
hire a car or take the train. There is a TGV station at Charles de
Gaulle, with a few direct connections to Burgundy (see Travel by Train).
Trains for Burgundy leave the centre of Paris from the Gare de Lyon
train station in the south east of the city. Some regional services
run from Paris Bercy station, near the Gare de Lyon but these are slow
trains.

Paris can be confusing so here are our hints and map.
To
get from the airport to the Gare de Lyon
Take
the RER B (blue) line which leaves the airport every 15 minutes from
5.30 to 23.30 daily. This will take you to the Gare du Nord. Here change
onto the RER D (green) line for the Gare de Lyon.

Air
France buses go directly to the Gare de Lyon (line 4) leaving at 30
min. intervals. This can take up to one hour, depending on the time
of day and the traffic.

Take
a taxi. G7 taxis can be pre-booked in English 01 41 27 66 99. This
is not a cheap option as the taxis are metred and the cost depends
on the traffic. Think in the region of 50 euros plus.

Arriving at Paris Orly
Again,
for your onward journey to Burgundy, the options are to hire a car
or take the train from the Gare de Lyon in the centre of Paris to your
onward destination.
Take
a taxi. Orly is about 19km south of the city of Paris so a taxi outside
of rush hour is an option. G7 English speaking taxi reservation service
01 41 27 66 99. Other ways require manoeuvring the metro system.
Air
France operate a bus to the Gare Montparnesse. From here take Metro
line 6 to Gare Bercy and line 14 to Gare de Lyon.

OrlyBus
goes to Denfert-Rochereau metro station. Then take line 6 to Gare Bercy
and line 14 to Gare de Lyon.

Arriving at Lyon St-Exupery
The
TGV station at St-Exupery, next to the terminal has services to Paris
and the south of France.
For
Burgundy, take the airport shuttle bus to Lyon Part Dieu (Perrache).
Train services to Mâcon, Tournus,Chalon-sur-Saône, Chagny,
Beaune, Dijon and Le Creusot.
