Day Trips
Note that in general, places are closed for lunch from
12.00 until 14.00; many of the châteaux have guided tours at set
times and museums are shut on Tuesdays.
We recommend the
Michelin Map No. 520 Burgundy (Bourgogne) Franche Comte (France) for touring around
Burgundy, available by post from Amazon, used in conjunction with a Garmin Nuvi 255WT Satellite Navigation System - Full EU Mapping, Widescreen, Built-in Traffic which has proved invaluable.
If you are travelling in a specific area such as the
Cote-d'Or, Saone-et-Loire (Michelin Local Maps) or
Nievre, Yonne (Michelin Local Maps)
are also available. Car hire rates also available online.
