Performing Arts Arsys de Bourgogne Burgundy’s professional choir with a European standing
Arsys de Bourgogne is a professional choir with a fine reputation across Europe. Up to 32 singers perform Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary works from Bach to Biber under the direction of Pierre Cao. The choir sings not only on home turf but across France, Spain, Luxembourg and Switzerland, working with various instrumental ensembles such as the Seville Baroque Orchestra and Concerto Koln. Pierre Cao founded the choir in 1999. Born in Luxembourg, this classical orchestral conductor found that he had a particular talent for choral work. He has a fine reputation and each August directs the highly popular Vézelay Music Festival in the small town where the choir are based. New practice rooms, studios, a small concert space and administrative offices opposite the Basilica indicate just how established this choir has become. Details of the choir’s performances in Burgundy are shown on What’s On in Burgundy.
