New Writing ![]() 'Sitting on History' in bronze by Bill Woodrow We’re featuring different styles and approaches to writing in this brand new section of burgundytoday. There’s journalism from Sian Duval as she makes her passionate plea for us to become more French in our food tastes and demands. John Liley’s honest memoir takes us through his lifetime’s passion for inland waterways – and his struggle over the years with the exasperating side of French authority. We have a diarist’s humour from Rodney Davies as he gets to grips with turning his dream into a reality, and gentle satire from Max Aniane as she reflects on French kissing. The evocative poetry of Barbara Dordi (more coming soon) and romanticism of Jane Dennis paint the colours and images of their own particular perceptions of France. Thanks to all contributors and we hope that many more people will feel inspired to write about their experiences of France. If you have an original piece you would like to share, see France Today – In Your Own Words.
