La Ferme des Nids ![]() The setting for this cottage is truly idyllic in the valley of the Cousin river which runs below the town of Avallon. The sun glints on the water, there are weeping willow trees, and gentle waterfalls. Once a mill, the cottage is next to the main house, the home of Ann-Marie and Philippe Thibaut. From here, you can walk into Avallon old town, walk, cycle or tour the area. Vézelay and Château de Bazoches are within easy reach; Beaune and Dijon, l’Abbaye de Fontenay and Chablis make for good day trips. The accommodation ![]() The cottage itself is built of granite with exposed walls and beamed ceilings. There is an open plan living area with working fireplace, TV (French) and DVD. In the kitchen area there are fitted units with electric hob and oven, microwave and refrigerator. On this floor there is a shower room with hand basin and WC. Upstairs in the eaves of the house there is a double bedded room and a twin bedded room plus a bathroom with hand basin, WC and washing machine. The house has central heating and metred phone. There is a pretty terrace for aperitifs, meals and relaxing by the river. Price per week ![]() The cottage costs 384 euros per week during June, July and August. 332 euros per week during the rest of the year, heating included. Linen and towels only provided on request and charged extra. There is a taxe de séjour of 60 cents per person per night additional (children under 13 excluded). Change over day: Saturday.
