Marcs d'Or 9 Rue des Marcs d’Or, Dijon  Whether you are touring the region, or en route through Burgundy, this bed and breakfast 1km from the centre of Dijon is an ideal stopover. Classed as a chambres d‘hôte, it has also all the advantages of a self-contained apartment with small fridge and washing machine, plus a private terrace surrounded by a charming garden. There is one double bedroom but the sitting room too can provide sleeping accommodation for two more family members. Spend the days exploring this university town, the history of the Dukes of Bourgogne and the stylish shops then relax in comfort at Marcs d‘Or. Breakfast is provided either in the apartment or in the owner Olivier Ferrut Troubat’s dining room. He will suggest places to eat, things to do and see on his home patch, and offers guided tours of the châteaux and vineyards if required. Your host also plays the harp, so you may be lucky enough to be lulled by the dulcet tones of this gentle instrument. The Accommodation  The elegant house at 9 Rue des Marcs d’Or was built in 1850 with large French windows and tall ceilings. The little apartment on the ground floor of the house has its own entrance with secure off road parking. Surrounded by mature trees and backing onto a park, you pass from the private leafy front terrace into the living room furnished in the traditional style, with a single bed in one corner. The double bedroom is off to the right; a small kitchen with fridge and washing machine is to the left, and beyond this, the bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. There is an additional folding bed for a fourth person. Rue des Marcs d’Or is a 25 minute walk to the Palais des Ducs, right in the centre of Dijon. A number 6 bus comes almost to the door and runs up to midnight. If you are arriving by train to Dijon, the house is a short taxi ride from the station. Bookings  Price: 65 Euros per night for
